I would recommend this book for anyone to read. ounce you start it you never want to stop reading it. I loved this book. I recommend it to anyone you should defiantly read it1

Sam gets invited to take Max and Claire and Emily to a supper that his friends is putting on while his parents are out of town. Claire and his friends girlfriends watch the kids while sam and his friend go play basketball. Claire comes out and says Sam hurry its max he cut hisself. Sam comes in and max is in his friends girlfriends arms and there both crying and max is crying and screaming. Sam and his friend goes to the hospital. The doctor says its just a small cut and it needs some stiches. Sam's dad comes to pick him and Max up from the hospital. When they get home they talk about how Sam's SAT scores have came in and he reminds him of the plans. Claire is on her run and she stops over to see if Max is doing okay. She comes in and sees max she said im so glade hes okay. Sam asks his dad if he cam watch Max for a minute his dad says sure. On the way to the school Sam tells Claire that hes going to put Max up for adoption and Claire gets all mad. She then leaves. you never find out in the book what happens to Max.
If I could change anything in this book I would change knowing what happen to Max and not letting Sam put him up for adoption.

Sam gets to change his name to Max. Sam takes max to daycare at his school everyday. Sam also buys everything for Max with his own money, his dad only gives him a certain amount of money a month. Sam gets Max everything he needs. Sam has to talk to a concealer lady about all the stuff that is going on with Max and how Max is doing and how hes doing. She mentions to same that the SAT's are coming up and that some of the parents are going to get together to study two or three times a week. Max says he has a plan and hes going to do construction when he graduates for one of his dads friends. She tells him that Claire will be there. Claire's a girl that
Sam has liked since fourth grade. She had recently had a daughter named Emily. So Sam says that he will go to the study groups. Sam asks his aunt for the money for the test and he continues to go to the study group with Claire and another girl. The the test day comes and Sam does excellent on the test. Claire and Sam take there kids on play dates. Claire and Sam have started dating and people think that they are a couple and that Max and Emily belong to both of them witch scares Sam.

The setting of my book takes place at a school and in his house. He is a senior with a kid the book doesn't happen in a certain time period it could happen anytime tones of teens are getting pregnant and having to take responsibility for there action just like Sam has done. He didn't want to see his son go up for adoption.

Sam finds out with Brittany is pregent. Then him and Brittany end up breaking up because Brittany isn't acting the same toward Sam. Brittany's mom calls and says that Brittany went into labor and that she had the baby. Sam tells her he will stop by in the morning. Sam hasn't been to the hospital since his mom died when he was 7 so it takes him a little bit to find the room Brittany was in. Brittany looks like shes sleeping when he gets there. Brittany says she named the baby Juline right away Sam doesn't like the name but doesn't say anything. After Juline and Brittany go home 3 weeks have past and Brittany's mom calls to talk to Sam's dad, she tells him that there going to put Juline up for adoption. The next day Sam skips school so he can go to Brittany's and talk to her she tells him how she cant handle Juline so she wants to put him up for adoption. But Sam cant stand having Juline just become a part in his life then leave so fast so he tells Brittany to give him custody not some stranger. Sam's aunt Jean finds a lawyer and the first thing Sam asks is Can we change his name to Max.

So far there are a lot of characters in the book. Sam who is the dad. Max is the baby.Aunt Jean she is the one who helped max learn how to be a good dad and take care of Max, she stops by every so often to see Max she calls him pumpkin. Andy who is Sam's best friend since 2nd grade, they don't talk much anymore since Sam got custody of Max. Jenny is Andy's girlfriend. Claire she is Emily's mom and her and Sam have a little thing going on and they take their kids on play dates. Brittany who is Max's mom.Ted who in Sam's uncle he doesn't really say a lot but he tells Sam hes proud of him witch means a lot to Sam. Then threes Sam's dad they just call him dad. there are also lots of teachers and other parents that are also teenagers. Sam is the only guy that goes to the daycare. Sam has long hair and its dark he loves to play football well he did love to play football now he takes care of Max. Claire has blond hair that is always pulled back and she is always wearing makeup. Sam has not yet seen Claire with out make up. Brittany has blond hair and is Max's mom. Sam thinks shes scary with out her makeup.

The name of my book that I choose to read is hanging on to Max by Bechard Margaret. We are reading books for English class the only requirement is that they be 300 pages or we read two books. Whatever it takes to get 300 pages read. I choose this book because I am in high school and a lot of people have kids before they are senior and don't know what to do so they put them up for adoption. The boy in this book just got custody of his son Max. He is trying to get all of his credits in high school so that he can graduate and get a job and keep Max. He tries not to rely on his dad for anything he keeps the money that his dad gives him so he can buy diapers and formula.
