The setting of my book takes place at a school and in his house. He is a senior with a kid the book doesn't happen in a certain time period it could happen anytime tones of teens are getting pregnant and having to take responsibility for there action just like Sam has done. He didn't want to see his son go up for adoption.

Good observation about time period. There was a time when boys probably couldn't step up and take care of their children - maybe in the 50's?
